Update: Domestic Abuse Bill continues to progress

Update

Today (29th April) the Domestic Abuse Bill recieves Royal Assent.

Yesterday (27th April), the House of Commons considered the Commons amendments on the Domestic Abuse Bill.

Yesterday (26th April), the House of Commons considered the Lords amendments on the Domestic Abuse Bill. 

The Bill is moving through the final stages of the process before receiving Royal Assent.

This evening (21st April), the House of Lords considered the House of Commons amendments on the Domestic Abuse Bill. 

The Bill went to the Commons for consideration of Lords amendments on Thursday 15 April 2021. The Commons disagreed with the Lords amendments and returned the Bill to the Lords with Reasons.

The Lords debated the Reasons, but due to time constraints were unable to finish their discussions. These discussions will continue at another time.

The Bill is moving through the final stages of the process before receiving Royal Assent.

Today, the Domestic Abuse Bill’s Lords amendments were heard by the House of Commons. 

After consideration the Commons decided to make some amendments of their own. These amendments need to be considered by the Lords, and this has been scheduled in for 21st April 2021.

The Bill is moving through the final stages of the process before receiving Royal Assent.
