Content is King webinar recap

Last week we hosted the first in our 8 weekly content marketing webinars for Today’s Media.

It was so exciting to see such a good turn out and have lots of great feedback around the content. In our piece this week we just wanted to cover what happened at our webinar if you missed it, and if you attended a bit of a recap!

The benefits of content marketing and how to use it in practice

Content can be anything from an image to an article, podcast or even a webinar. It takes so many forms, and its main purpose is to inform or simply entertain the consumer so that they take the step in buying your product or using your service. It is about creating valuable and relevant content to retain or attract your target audience. Simple!

There have been many changes to the marketing mix over the years and the internet has really catapulted content to the forefront. These days we want to seek out the messages that are timely and tailored to our needs, we certainly do not want to be interrupted with poorly timed messages that bombard our busy days. Content marketing enables the consumer and gives them the power to search for the information that is relevant to them at that point in time.

Why is it so good?

Number one it is cost effective, and great for your bottom line which every business wants to hear. You can shout about your expertise showing off your authority and credibility within your area, it can help you climb the google ranks, create customer loyalty and most importantly it can generate quality leads.

Looking at these points in more detail; authority and credibility is really important here, especially when we come to the legal sector. As a consumer I need to trust that the company I choose for my conveyancing matters, probate needs or equity release for example knows their market. Content is a powerful way of communicating this. A series of articles around the probate process or how to buy your first home for instance would really show off knowledge within these areas, giving the consumer the confidence and conviction to enquire creating that all important lead generation.

Content can also play a major role in retaining customers and cementing customer loyalty by strengthening the existing bond. Plus, It can further establish your authority and generate repeat sales. Law can sometimes fall in to the ‘one time purchase’ bracket, your customers may not know that as well as conveyancing you can write their will or advise on divorce. Content can engage your existing base, and promote your full offering creating further bonds with those existing clients.

We also discussed how to use content in practice and provided real world examples from the travel and probate world. To recap or watch the webinar in full, click here to watch the recording. Lindsay webinar – YouTube

Ready – made content

It’s essential the content you produce is frequent, relevant, up to date, accurate and SEO considered – all of this takes valuable time. One of the biggest challenges we hear from our clients is that they are just too busy to write the content and let us not forget the proof reading and keeping it up to date. They would rather be spending that time doing their actual job and spending that valuable time with their client.

How content can help your business grow

Content marketing is an invaluable tool when it comes to growing your business. If the content you produce is helpful and informative you will be viewed as a credible and authoritative source on your area of expertise. It also plays a key role to drive genuine trust and quality leads.

However, writing good quality and engaging content can be rather time consuming. One of the main challenges we hear is that firms are just too busy in their day to day roles, to invest time in focusing on writing content for their business, especially when this time can be better spent with a client.
